Only a few decades ago, the ability to use professional recording equipment to produce high quality audio was off limits for all but the very wealthy or those working with corporate backers. Since then, however, technology has advanced dramatically and costs have dropped substantially. This, combined with the increasing amounts of useful resources on the internet, has opened the door for us commoners to obtain and use legitimate audio recording hardware and software in the comfort of our own homes.
